Dell has started this, acquiring EMC (comprehending VMware and RSA!). Masterstroke, definitively!
Cloud (xaaS) architecture should be composed by the following core elements:

Elaborating: iron stuff, the hard part, the hardware upon which build the rest of the story, It is provided by Dell: its servers are professional but cheap

Scheduling: Operating System for controlling the elaboration performed by the hardware. It is mainly based on Open Source (like Linux) and other cheap components. Eventually, for destroying competitors, Dell will need to acquire SuSe, later

Partitioning: hyper-visor for splitting the hardware and adjusting resource, on the base of dynamic needs for elaboration. It is provided by VMware (proper part of EMC): the leader in hyper visor and virtual machine; the “de facto” market standard

Storing: place for saving data and properly organizing it. This is provided, respectively, by the storages of EMC and the software from Legato and other minor acquisition of EMC

Securing: tools and methodology for ensuring the elaboration and the data are treated having security in mind (e.g. CSA STAR attestation). For sure, about that RSA is one of the best player in the world
After EMC acquisition, Dell is the only big player that owns 4 / 5 of the Cloud core elements, having the lacking one owned by non competitor (SuSE is part of Micro Focus group).
No any other Cloud player has look at Security as Dell has.
